Black Rice

Black rice was known as “forbidden rice” because it was consumed only by the Chinese Emperor and produced by his subjects.

Rich in iron, black rice has 20% more protein than the white version, in addition to having a greater amount of fiber. “It is very rich in anthocyanins, which improve heart health. It also helps to prevent allergic respiratory reactions such as asthma and rhinitis by suppressing the action of histamine, the substance that is largely responsible for these allergic reactions”, explains Ana Luisa.
